At Studio Sturt, the full service can be broken down into phases. You can feel confident knowing how your project is progressing and be aware throughout of what is going on in order to keep it running smoothly, on time and on budget. The timeline for each phase is dependant on the size and scope of the project.
Phase 1 | Brief and Concept Design
The first part of the project involves getting to know you and your property. An in-depth initial meeting determines the scope of the project, your design ambitions and budget. The site is fully surveyed.
Following a design meeting, concepts are developed and layouts are defined. At this stage, the design direction will begin to take shape and you can understand the overall look, mood and feel. Colours, lighting, fabrics and furnishings will begin to be explored.
Phase 2 | Developed Design
Details of the design - such as products, materials and hard finishes - are defined and you will see samples and visuals for approval.
This phase involves more technical design such as joinery elevations, bespoke elements and bathroom specifications. Any schedules and specifications required to support the execution of the design are produced.
Phase 3 | Construction
During the construction phase, appropriate and trusted suppliers and contractors are found for any necessary works required. Quotations are compiled, trades booked and schedules created for the construction and build part of the project. I work closely with contractors on site, including electricians, plumbers, decorators and other design professionals, to enable them to implement the design successfully. Please note, Studio Sturt are not acting as the general contractor or project manager.
Phase 4 | Procurement (runs alongside phases 2 and 3)
After budget and product approval, the procurement stage begins. This involves ordering all furniture, electrical items, fabrics and materials needed to complete the decorative scheme. As part of the full service design, you will get access to trade discounts. We keep track of lead times and deliveries and are responsible for all aspects of managing the FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment).
Phase 5 | Installation
We inspect completed works, oversee the installation of FF+E , window treatments and decorative items and complete final styling.
Now, you can sit back, relax and enjoy your new home.
